Lviv brand ETNO presents a new line of tote bags created using upcycling technology, which reuses fabric scraps without reprocessing them.
According to Markiyan Myskiv, the founder of the ETNO brand, the idea to launch a line of upcycled tote bags originated during a visit to the production site after finishing the GARDEN collection.
“Among rows of sewing machines, large fabric rolls and finished products, I came across a box in which workers carefully put some fabric remnants. Most pieces of fabric were in good condition and had embroidery on them. I immediately realized that they could be used somehow,” commented Markiyan.
“As the products we make are for young, creative, and environmentally conscious people who appreciate beauty and functionality and care about the world they live in, we quickly came up with the idea to create such handy tote bags,” adds Markiyan.
The tote bags were made from pieces of monochrome linen leftover from the GARDEN collection. The collection was virtually monochrome, so the designer decided to combine different pieces of fabric in one pattern. There were also many embroidered offcuts, which resulted in a combination of different textures of bags.
The laconic design and reserved colors of the tote bags make them a universal accessory to any outfit. The bags are made of 100% natural materials and present a great alternative to plastic bags.
The tote bags are available at ETNO’s showroom in Lviv.
